Teen Overnight Lock-In

Coming up on Wednesday, September 18 is a fun and rare opportunity for kids in grades 6 through 12 to enjoy an overnight lock-in at the Delaware YMCA. Plan to arrive at the Delaware YMCA at 8 PM and stay all the way through the night until 7 AM Thursday. Since Thursday is Jug Day, Delaware City Schools students have no school, and it's the perfect time to catch up on those zzzzz's.

YMCA staff will be on hand throughout the night to facilitate swimming, climbing the rock wall, battle games in the gym, movie viewing and (for those whose eyelids can't stay open) sleeping.

Cost for the night is $20 and includes an evening pizza party, snacks, swimming, rock wall climbing and an amazing "Battle Room" set up in the gym.

What to Bring:
  • Bathing Suit
  • Towel
  • Comfortable Clothes
  • Sleeping Bag
  • Pillow
  • Change for Vending Machines
Space will fill up fast, so guarantee your attendance by registering early. Please pre-register in person at the Delaware YMCA located at 1121 South Houk Road or at the Delaware YMCA web site under "Register for Classes" (a user login or visitor account is required for non-members).

The whole event is being planned with the help of the YMCA Teen Leaders Club. For students who want to help plan the event (and receive a discount!), consider joining the Teen Leaders Club. The group meets every Thursday at 6 PM in the Community Meeting Room.

Parents who would like to volunteer as a chaperone can do so once a volunteer application has been turned in to the Delaware YMCA and appropriate screenings have taken place.

Questions? Call the YMCA at 740-203-3051.
